2013 Empty Bowls Event

The 2013 Empty Bowls Virginia Peninsula event, our second fundraiser, was held at the Hampton History Museum in Downtown Hampton on March 15, 2013. We again limited our ticket sales to 300, and were delighted that they sold out in advance as they did the year before.

Four local organizations benefited from our March 2013 event.

  • Foodbank of the Virginia Peninsula
  • FISH Emergency Services – Williamsburg
  • LINK of Hampton Roads
  • Grove Christian Outreach Center

As a result of our 2013 fundraiser, we donated $10,000 to these four organizations.

2012 Empty Bowls Event

Our first Empty Bowls fundraiser was February 10, 2014, at the Peninsula Fine Arts Center in Newport News. We chose to limit ticket sales to 300, and we were surprised and delighted that they sold out 10 days before the event. It was a gratifying response to our fledgling project.

The EBVP committee selected three local organizations to benefit from our efforts.

  • Foodbank of the Virginia Peninsula
  • FISH Emergency Services – Williamsburg
  • Lamb House Street Ministries – Hpt./Npt. News

Our inaugural event in 2012 raised $9000 to donate to these three organizations.

2014 Empty Bowls Event

Our third fundraiser was held on March 19, 2014, at the Hampton History Museum in Downtown Hampton.

We raised a record $13,000 for our grant recipients at our 2014 event.
